CASA Welcomes New Volunteers

CASA is so excited to welcome our newest volunteers to our excellent group of CASA volunteers. In November, Jodi Heras, Suzette Martinez, Joshua Benavides and Kathryn Benavides were all sworn in by Judge Jaime E. Carrillo in Kleberg County. Due to COVID-19, the CASA swear in was held via zoom.

CASA volunteers are the heart of our organization. Their role is to support children and families involved in the child welfare system. CASA volunteers are assigned to one or two cases at a time, focusing solely on that one child or sibling group and their families. They advocate for the best interest of the children they serve, and help to re-establish healthy family connections. CASA volunteers work to ensure the child is safe during their time in foster care and stay by the child’s side throughout the duration of the case, working to ensure the child’s and family’s needs are met.
