Community Donates Games to Children in Foster Care

Children who are removed from their family of origin and placed in foster care may have feelings of being isolated and detached. These feelings can sometimes be heighted when they are experiencing CWOP or Child Without Placement. Children in CWOP are required to stay in a hotel supervised by a social worker 24/7 and often times only leaving to go to school.

To help rally around the children and maintain a sense of normalcy CASA staff reached out to the community via Facebook to request board game donations. Along with board games we asked for coloring books, crayons and other activities for our CASA kids in CWO. We set up an Amazon.com wish list to make it easy to shop and send activities directly to our CASA office. The turn out was amazing!

Special thank you to Little Miss Kingsville, Jaylah Caldera for organizing a drive on behalf of the CASA program. We appreciate you!!

We are so grateful for the support of the community. You really came through for our CASA children and we cannot thank you enough.
