Brush Country CASA hosts annual 5K

Brush Country CASA held its annual Color the Way for CASA 5K on Saturday, August 12 on the Texas A&M University – Kingsville Campus. In all, more than 70 runners participated in our adult 5K run, as well as our children’s 1-mile run.

In addition to the Kingsville community, the race featured participants from all across the Brush Country and South Texas as Bishop, Alice, Corpus Christi, Freer, San Diego Beeville and Brownsville were all represented.

Malayah Gallivan was the top overall female finisher for the 5K run with a time of 23 minutes, 51.3 seconds. In the 1-mile race, Sofia Dall of Kingsville took the top spot with a time of 7:20.0.

For the males, Robert Trevino was the top overall finisher with a time of 17:26.9.  Parker Pena was the top finisher in the 1-mile race with a time of 8:30.0
