Brush Country CASA alongside the Kleberg County Child Welfare Board, Jim Wells County Child Welfare Board, and Department of Family and Protective Services will host a series of Candlelight Vigils throughout April in observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month. These vigils provide an opportunity for community members to come together in remembrance, reflection, and support of children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
Each vigil will include a moment of silence and a shared commitment to raising awareness about child abuse prevention and the importance of standing up for vulnerable children in our communities. Community leaders, volunteers, and residents are encouraged to attend and show their support.
Vigil dates and locations are as follows:
- Kleberg County: April 14 at 6:00 PM, Kleberg County Courthouse
- Jim Wells County: April 21 at 6:00 PM, Jim Wells County Courthouse
- Brooks County: April 28 at 6:00 PM, Brooks County Courthouse
These events are open to the public, and all are welcome to participate as we unite to bring awareness, hope, and light to the lives of children in our community.
