CASA Volunteers Discuss the Importance of Every Child Having a CASA Volunteer in Kingsville Monthly Magazine
CASA volunteers Sandra Barrera and Adolfo Espinoza recently spoke with Kingsville Monthly Magazine to share how CASA has impacted their lives and, more importantly, the lives of the children they serve. In their interview, they spoke about the critical role CASA plays in advocating for children in foster care and the dire need for more volunteers in our community.
Their journey as CASA volunteers has been life-changing. They’ve seen firsthand how having a dedicated advocate can make all the difference for a child navigating through the foster care system. Sandra shared her motivation for becoming a CASA volunteer, saying, “God had taken care of me, and I was going to give back… Now, I am the voice for those kids.”
Adolfo reflected on the long-term impact of his advocacy, adding, “When time passes and you see that 8-year-old graduating from high school, and you know that, ‘Hey, this has worked.’ Though you may not hear it or even see it, they were listening.”
Their interview is a powerful reminder that more volunteers are needed to help children find safe, permanent homes. If you’ve ever considered becoming a CASA volunteer, now is the time. A few hours a month can change a child’s future.
