Children’s Spring Festivals

Spring festivities were in full swing at the Children’s Spring Festivals hosted by Brush Country CASA, the Child Welfare Board and Child Protective Services. Events were held during the month of April in observation of Child Abuse Prevention Month. The first event was held on April 9th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Thompson Park in Kingsville, Texas. We had approximately nine community partners providing valuable information regarding community resources along with games and prizes for the children. We even had an appearance by the Easter bunny which was a real treat for the children. CASA estimates that we had around 150 children in attendance in Kingsville. The second event was held on April 23rd in Alice, Texas at Veterans Plaza Park. At this event we had approximately 11 community partners in attendance. This event was amplified by the great music and dance competitions. It took a minute for the children to warm up, but once they did there was no stopping them. Our final event was held on April 30th in Falfurrias, Texas at the Brooks County Courthouse. This was the first time that this event was hosted in Falfurrias and it certainly will not be the last. We had so much fun getting out into the community and we are looking forward to next year.

Brush Country CASA would like to thank our community partners and supporters for their contribution to this event. We truly appreciate you.
